Miles Benjamin // Director

Miles Benjamin has been an active participant in the music, media, web, and marketing scene since the mid 90’s. His artistic and creative contributions have sent him spiraling into the Chicago scene without signs of slowing down. Miles has also found himself working alongside countless artists during this time, helping create, change, and sculpt the art and music around him.

His beliefs and DIY mindset culminated within him and in 2008 he set out to build a recording studio that would not only capture the physical sound of a performance, but would also seal the essence of it. He wanted to expose the world to the overwhelming talent around him, and Kilo Studios would be that platform.

His work ethic and ideals spill over into the audio realm, giving a fantastic color and sense of soul to every project he works on. He strongly believes that when it comes to music, emotion and vibe come before super slick and technical production. He feels that a great recording of unremarkable music creates a null result. He is obsessed with the story, infatuated with the happy accidents, and turned on by the idea of an album.

Miles loves sushi and quality bourbon and would rather design a band poster or play a video game than sleep at night. He currently performs in Chicago groups All Things Lucid and The Loneliest Monk.
