Why?
Because we have the passion, the ears, and the know-how to record your audio at its full potential. We have a technical and philosophical understanding of what goes into creating a great recording.

Kilo Studios is located in the beautiful art district of Pilsen in Chicago, IL. Originally a private studio for Kilo Records, director Miles Benjamin and engineer Mitchell Cepaitis realized the obvious next step. After spending nearly a year building and adjusting the room, Kilo Studios officially opened its doors to the world in the Spring of 2009.
Understanding how every piece of gear works together is one of the keys to our approach. We don’t just use our equipment, we believe in it. We have the capability to record analog, digital, or a combination of both using Protools HD, a vintage 16-track Fostex 1/2″ tape machine, and a lo-fi Akai 4-track.
As working musicians, audio engineers and audiophiles, we realize the creative potential that can be found in the art of recording. We have learned a great deal working in the more mainstream studios over the years; however, we wanted more. Collaborating with each of our clients to develop a custom creative blueprint is part of our core practice. Each project is more than just a recording, it’s a timeless piece of art. Whether you are looking to track the next epic rock record of the year, a lo-fi cult single, or an atmospheric sound scape, we will find the best possible way to showcase your sound and shape your audio.
